Abroad in the reggae land...

Right now I’m in the land of reggae, sun and of course ganja… yes... I’m in Jamaica… today I have to be very synthetic as I’m little bit high now… I’ve been smoking the very good weed for the last seven days… here you can find it everywhere… in a tourist beach you can find it (I would say it will find you) for a couples of euros per joint… but if you buy it from some local friend you can by bag with 50 grams for few euros… guys… I have to go… I’m not in a rush but there is a hot baby waiting for me and I feel little bit a nerds typing on my laptop when this hot chocolate is watching at me…

Brazil, few years ago…

Is the sex the engine of the world? I don’t know… probably… some psychologist lecturers are sure about that. As I’m pretty sure about one thing: we spent a lot of our time thinking about it… in fact the sex has always been a strong element of every culture. Some have made a taboo of it but some other has learned how to enjoy it… that was one of the reasons that brought me a few years ago to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil on the carnival celebration period. It was not the first time that I’ve been in Brazil, but it was the first time that I’ve lived carnival at Rio. I was backpacking around Brazil with an adventures´ºfriend and as we were not to far away from Rio we decided to go there for a couple of days. We arrived to Rio at the dusk and even if carnival officially wasn’t started yet the party was already there on the street…at least it was for us! There were music in every corner of the city and the fun was stamped on people faces. We walked among these party people for a while looking for a place where to spend the following days. At one point, in the middle of the crowded street a guy told us: “parla italianos habla español, speak english, parle france…ganja, smoke, marijuana”… wow…. That was easy!!! And he showed as bag of the size of soccer ball full of a nice, green and very perfumed Ganja. We looked around and saw a lot of people drinking and smoking so it was really natural to bargain the price… the guy said “50 dollars 20 grams”… it could be a good price in USA or Europe… but not in Brazil… he said ¨English man paid 50 pounds¨… I said... “We no English…. vinte dolars cinqüênta gramas”… and we got it!!!! And of course we smoked it immediately…. To be continued…

Presentation

I’m an Irish man (even if my english is a disaster) that spent most of his life abroad. I was born in Limerick, Ireland, and at the age of 4 years old I’ve move with all my family to Buenos Aires, Argentina... my father was a Naval Engineer and his work brought the whole family to live few years here and few years there... some scientist says that what you learn before your 5th year of life makes your personality and what you was enjoying doing when 15 you will enjoy for all your life... ok.. I believe that in my personal case, that theory is true!!! In fact I enjoy travel.... I don’t travel just for holidays but it is my life style. My soul needs to travel as my body needs food. I don’t enjoy the touristy resorts as they are not the natural expression of the local culture and therefore they are not what I’m looking for. I enjoy entering deep into the cultures and therefore living as a local.
In this blog I’m sharing with you some of the experiences that I have had in my numerous trips around the world and those that I will have...My intention is to describe those places that you won’t find in any regular travel agency; those experiences that are taboos for most of the people: How risky is to smoke ganja and where can it be bought from?... what about other drugs?... what about sex? Yes… how to approach women (pick up artist tips)? what about prostitutes? Is hitchhiking risky?

I hope that you will enjoy this blog and that it can be useful for your futures trips....
